AI Visibility in 2026: What We're Seeing

Patterns our team keeps seeing across AI search responses, and what they imply for brands, with trends on citations, authority signals, and share of voice.

AI visibility is becoming less about raw mentions and more about the quality of evidence behind those mentions.

Pattern one: answers are consolidating around a smaller source set

Across major engines, a relatively small group of domains receive a disproportionate share of citations. Brands that publish reusable, evidence-backed pages tend to gain compounding visibility because the same sources are repeatedly selected.

Pattern two: entity clarity beats volume

Brands with fewer pages but clearer entity signals often outperform larger sites with weaker information architecture. Consistent naming, explicit product and company descriptions, and trustworthy about pages improve answer consistency across engines.

Pattern three: fresh expert content matters

When topics shift quickly, answer engines respond better to recently updated pages that explain the change. Stale evergreen content still works for fundamentals, but prompt-sensitive topics benefit from visible update cycles and stronger editorial stewardship.

What teams should do next

Prioritize the prompt themes that matter commercially, then map them to pages that can serve as primary citation candidates. Track which pages are being referenced, which engines cite them, and where competitor pages are winning the answer. That creates a workable AEO roadmap instead of a generic SEO backlog.
